WHY PRAY FOR THE LOST?
Remember a few weeks ago, we talked about prayers to pray for the lost. With this, we need to know the "why" – the urgency of praying for our lost and unchurched neighbors.
A) They are __ to their spiritual condition.
(Romans 3:11; 1 Corinthians 2:14; 2 Corinthians 4:3, 4)
B) They are __ by sin, self, and Satan.
(Ephesians 2:2; 2 Timothy 2:25, 26)
C) They are __ by their sin.
(John 3:18; 2 Corinthians 4:3; Ephesians 2:3)
D) Without Christ, they are __.
(John 3:36; Revelation 20:15)
E) Without Christ, they are __.
(John 6:44; Ephesians 2:1)
F) Without Christ they have __.
WE NEED A HEART FOR OUR NEIGHBORS:
H Pray for a receptive __.
(Luke 8:5, 11-15)
E Pray for their spiritual __ to be open and their __ to hear. (2 Corinthians 4:3, 4; Matthew 13:15, 16)
A Pray for God's __ toward sin.
(John 16:8, 1 John 1:8)
R Pray for the person to be __ to believe.
(2 Corinthians 10:3, 4; 2 Timothy 2:25, 26)
T Pray for a __ life.
(Romans 12:1, 2)
"The church must be brought to the end of its self-seeking and come to understand what matters most in God's mission of kingdom advance - people. People need the Lord. And whatever it takes to reach them, to that the church should first give itself. Other concerns matter only as they support this central kingdom goal. The church does not exist for itself. The church exists for the glory of Jesus Christ, the advancement of His kingdom through bringing people to the foot of the cross, and forming Christ in God's people. Prayer for revival lays the foundation for this to happen. May we, therefore, make that 'method' paramount." – Lewis Drummond
