SERVANT KING: Missing the Point
“This Jesus never hurt anyone. He never made people blind, nor lame. He never hurt nor killed anyone, and that’s why people love and follow Him.” – the Roman Tribune, Marcellus, in his defense of Christ before Caesar
I. DON’T MISS THE MOMENT
Four truths you need to remember:
God has called us to join Him in something bigger than all of us combined.
II. DON’T EXPLAIN AWAY WHAT GOD IS DOING
III. DON’T MAKE ME REPEAT THIS
“We can only train by teaching, and we teach best when we train best.” The last of his seven laws says: “The completion, test, and confirmation of teaching must be made by reviews.” – John Milton Gregory, The Seven Laws of Teaching
“If the disciples had truly reflected on the spiritual significance of the miracle feasts, they would have advanced far beyond where they were in their spiritual growth. They would have seen Jesus as the wielder of omnipotence. The multiplication of bread was a creation miracle! Christ could do anything. The twelve baskets and the seven hampers of bread taught that He was bread for the whole world—Jews and Gentiles. The bread taught there was no life apart from Him. If they would only have pursued the gluttony recommended in Scripture—feasting on Christ!” – Preaching the Word: Mark, Volume I
