RELENTLESS: Lord, Use Me
“Notice God’s unutterable waste of saints, according to the judgment of the world. God plants His saints in the most useless places. We say, “God intends me to be here because I am so useful.” Jesus never estimated His life along the lines of greatest use. God puts His saints where they will glorify Him, and we are no judges at all of where that is.” – Oswald Chambers
I. THE WORLD SYSTEM WILL FAIL YOU
“Trust is vital. It is the key to any relationship succeeding, but trust is in short supply in our society. Trust is at an all-time low; trust in institutions, trust in the media, trust in authority, trust in the Church, trust in politicians, trust between children and parents and parents and children.” – Dave Richards
History tells us that nations like Egypt and Babylon, who depended so much on sorcerers and magicians, all had something like a “Dream Manual.” They would record all the dreams and interpretations through the years and then go and compare notes.
“Each new generation must see to it that the foundations of truth and justice are solid. Samuel laid again the foundations of the covenant (1 Sam 12), and Ezra laid again the foundations of the temple (Ezra 3).” – Warren Wiersbe
II. THE PEOPLE OF GOD MUST EMBRACE A BIBLICAL WORLDVIEW
Daniel Peel gives five reasons why he believes God answered their prayers:
“Daniel did not give an immediate yes or no. It was important that this king understand the difference between a prophet and a psychic, between a seer and a soothsayer, between the true and living God of the Hebrews and the false gods of the Babylonian priesthood. Therefore, he put some distance between himself and the court magicians.” – John Phillips
