Rewire: Rethinking How You Think
A BIBLICAL UNDERSTANDING OF STRESS
How do we learn to think with the mind of Christ?
Stress is a normal human reaction to __ or challenges.
When viewed biblically, stress is often a good __ from God.
“And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.” – Romans 8:28
“For [this] momentary, light affliction is producing for us an eternal weight of glory far beyond all comparison.” – 2 Corinthians 4:17
“Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. And let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.” – James 1:2-4
What are some practical ways that God uses stress for our good and His glory?
- God uses stress as a signal to get our __.
- God uses stress to help us define and/or rediscover our __.
- God uses stress to develop __ with Him.
- God uses stress to deepen our __ in Him.
We don’t always see things as __ are; we tend to see things as __ are.
The faith you __ is on the other side of the stress you __.
When you’re stressed out, consider it a sweet __ from God to sit down and __ a while.
