“For momentary, light affliction is producing for us an eternal weight of glory far beyond all comparison.” - 2 Corinthians 4:17

Key Thought: Trials are incredibly __ when you have the right __.

Our values determine our __.

If God __ it, He's using it. If He's using it, I need it. If I need it, I can be __ for it.

God allows His people to go through trials for numerous reasons:

  • Trials sanctify and mature us. (James 1:2-4; Romans 5:3-5)
  • Trials __ us. (2 Corinthians 12:7)
  • Trials eventually produce hope. (Romans 5:3-5)
  • Trials cause us to __ on God instead of worldly things. (2 Corinthians 1:8-9)
  • Trials open opportunities to share the gospel. (1 Peter 3:14-15)
  • Trials turn our eyes toward __ as our ultimate home. (Philippians 1:22-24)
  • Trials reveal what we really love. (1 Peter 1:6-9)
  • Trials teach us __ and help us value God's blessings. (Hebrews 5:7-9)
  • Trials provide opportunity for eternal reward. (James 1:12; 1 Peter 1:6-7)
  • Trials develop strength for greater __. (Luke 22:31-32)
  • Trials help us empathize with others. (Hebrews 2:18)
