In Christ: Living in the Father's House

Ephesians 2:19-22

What does it look like to live together in the Father’s house?

1) We’re no longer __; we’re family. (v. 19)

“So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints, and are of God’s household,”

2) We’re blessed with __ because of a solid __. (v. 20)

“having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus Himself being the corner stone,”

One of the greatest gifts you can give your kids is a godly __ and a stable __.

3) We’re being __ together by a loving Father. (vv. 21-22)

“in whom the whole building, being fitted together, is growing into a holy temple in the Lord, in whom you also are being built together into a dwelling of God in the Spirit.”

Part of your spiritual growth can only be done personally. But there’s another part of your spiritual growth that can only take place within the community of believers.

Your __ to the church is essential in your __ as a disciple.

Reflection/Response: As you understand more of God’s design in the Father’s house, ask additional follow-up questions and obey as God leads.

  • How is God leading you to support your church family?
  • Are you using your gifts to serve others?
  • Are you growing together as a family or just attending the same church?
  • Are you supporting each other and loving each other?
  • What is your next step to grow closer together with your family?
  • What is God already prompting you to do but you haven’t obeyed?
  • If part of your growth in Christ only happens in community, what is the inevitable result of being too busy to be involved?
