Sherwood Christian Academy was founded in 1985 as a ministry of Sherwood Baptist Church to assist Christian parents in the training of their children. We began with 11 faculty members and 256 students in grades K-8. Today, SCA is a growing, vibrant Christian school serving nearly 400 students in grades K3-12 boasting more than 1,000 alumni. Our students represent more than 75 churches from across the greater Albany area. Our size allows every student to be known by name by teachers and peers alike; yet, we offer a comprehensive, college prep, Bible-based educational program that is second to none in Albany! At SCA, we truly have it all!

At Sherwood Christian Academy, our students are prepared for the world they are entering – equipped in mind, body, and spirit through SCA’s academics, spiritual life, athletics, and fine arts programming. It is SCA’s mission to partner with parents to provide students with a quality, Bible-based education that will lead students to strive for excellence in all things as they become Christ-like leaders in their homes, churches, workplaces, and communities.
