THE WEEK THAT CHANGED THE WORLD

G.K. Chesterton said, “The only two things that can satisfy the soul are a person and a story; and even the story must be about a person.” The Week That Changed the World is a series of messages that trace Jesus’ final week before the cross and how His sacrifice secured our freedom. Through the collaborative testimony of the four Gospel writers, we will experience the culture, the sights, the events, and the stories that happened on each day of the Passion Week. In addition to learning the events of each day, believers will also see the redemptive story of God that moves from creation to the cross. Join us as we study the greatest story ever told about the greatest Person who ever lived.

And the Story Begins…

Various Verses

“The only two things that can satisfy the soul are a __ and a __; and even the story must be about a __.” – G. K. Chesterton

Let’s take a moment to remove possible issues before they become real distractions.

  • My goal is NOT to give a moment-by-moment timeline of the Passion Week for the sake of __ alone.
  • __ theories do not detract from the __ of what Christ did.
  • Misunderstandings about the __ day account for most of the differences.

So where does the story begin?

  • Chapter 1: God __ everything.
  • Chapter 2: Humanity __ and __ it up!
  • Chapter 3: The __ of sin is felt!
  • Chapter 4: __ is coming!
  • Chapter 5: __ reminds us of redemption!

Reflection and Response

  • Please be with us for the next nine Sundays unless there is no other choice.
  • Please invite others to join you.
  • Please pray that God will lead each of us to know Him more.
  • Please read Mark 11-16 at least 5-10 times on your own.
